Elves are nimble and quick, very good at ranged attacks, either using Accuracy or Magic. They are more reserved than other races, which also lends them well to support and manipulation roles on the battlefield. Shanore is the home of the elves of Onathien, tall spires, elegant bridges and waterfalls. It is surrounded by a mythical forest, full of allies and magic, to thwart unwanted intruders.
Elf Ranger (Male), Aggressor
Allandir is a ranger of the Northern Marches of average elven height (5'7"). He wears a full length cape, made of leaves from his forest home, and wields a slender elven bow, made by his father.
A true neutral who cares little for the affairs of gods and men, Allandir is consumed by his love of nature and maintaining the balance between chaos and law, good and evil. Allandir is a master of being unseen and unheard in forests, and sticking to wooded areas on the battlefield will make him difficult to pin down. He can consistently deliver damage from a long range better than any other hero in the game, particularly against clumped up enemies.
Elf Fire Mage (Female), Aggressor
Istariel is only 5’4”, short even for an elf. She is known as the mistress of the flame, with long blonde hair, a fiery red cloak and a red jewel visible from her exposed belly button. Beautiful to look at by any measure, she has a volatile temperament and is able to command fire as one would a trained hound.
Istariel holds other races with little more than contempt and is often at odds with the more conservative elves of Shanore. Along with Allandir, she is a potent attacking force from range, however her manipulation of fire is what sets her apart. Inherent armour shredding means Istariel is the bane of enemies with Resilience. The bonuses she receives, when an enemy is suffering the fire affect, means she is a potent ally to other heroes that are able to set enemies on fire (such as Allandir).
Elf Illusionist/Rogue (Male), Supporter
Piper is a pixie like elf that excels at practical jokes and tom foolery. He is no taller than 5’, and combined with his boyish looks, is often mistaken for a child. Piper possesses a playful personality and is at peace frolicking through the woods conversing with the Sylvan creatures that he treats as family. Somewhat detached from his elf kin, occasionally, Piper is treated with suspicion. His appearance can be deceptive, however when forced into combat he can be quite a handful, particularly against a distracted foe. Extensive contact with Sylvan creatures has seen Piper increase his power over magic. His ability to manipulate magic and beguile opponents with illusion can be a very important skill on the battlefield.
Piper is an interesting character, since although he is categorised as a supporter, he can actually deal quite a bit of damage in melee, possessing the Backstab ability. If you decide to go this route, augmenting his melee ability with the Vorpal Blade (magical artefact) is a good option. Piper's Illusionary Wyrm Fate ability makes him a natural counter to heroes that excel in forests (such as Allandir).
Elf Priestess (Female), Soulgazer
Saiyin is a polarising figure in elf society, with her eagerness to embrace other races and their cultures. A long time opponent to the isolationism of her forefathers, Saiyin has proven a wonderful ambassador and negotiator during times of peace. Her wisdom belies her age as does her influence in political circles. It remains to be seen what legacy she will leave behind once her time on Onathien has come to an end. One thing for certain is that she is a remarkable elf whose potential knows no bounds.
Saiyin is the best healer in the game and a potent Soulgazer. If she can be kept protected in your back line Saiyin can heal and augment your heroes whilst picking off un-bound Souls. If things get dangerous, once she has harvested a few souls, Saiyin can actually pack quite a punch in combat.
