Herein lies the ninth clarification and errata document for Judgement. From the very beginning, we socialised the fact Judgement would be a regularly "patched" game, to stay true to its MOBA origins, and to ensure the game's rules are kept in an optimal state. Our patch schedule is quarterly, with the changes becoming official on the 1st day of the start of the next quarter. Therefore the official date for this patch is the 1st of January 2020.

Remember that all hero, monster, magical artefact and core rules can be downloaded from the Print & Play section of this website or purchased from Both our Android and iOS apps will also be updated to reflect changes from this patch.

Clarifications are provided for rules that are normally played a certain way, however, the rules as written do not necessarily support that. Clarifications can also be quality of life changes that do not necessarily change rules.

Frost Condition (p31)

The Frost condition introduced issues around the order debuffs from different sources were applied. We decided to clarify the Frost condition so its application was simpler.


A model suffering the frost condition suffers the following effects:

  • AGI capped at 3.
  • MOV capped at 3.
  • Basic attacks damage reduced by 1.

The AGI and MOV modifiers from the frost condition are applied before any other AGI and MOV modifiers.

Fly (p32)

We clarified how fly works on monsters since the original definition specifically spoke about heroes.

A non-monster model with fly ignores the charge target, intervening models and impassable terrain/terrain features when moving as part of a charge. The model’s final placing, after the charge move, must not overlap any other model’s base and must ensure the charge target is within the charging model’s melee range. Note that the charging model still requires Line of Sight to its charge target before the charge move.

A monster with fly ignores intervening models and impassable terrain/terrain features when moving as part of the Hunter rule. The monster’s final placing, after the Hunter rule move, must not overlap any other model’s base.

Small (p33)

With the introduction of Bale & Sarna, we decided to include Small in the core rules as previously it was something unique to Viktor.

A model with the small ability has a 40mm diameter base and a height of 1. 

Soulless (p33)

The introduction of more undead heroes means it is time to put Soulless in the core rules. We also clarified what happens when one Soulless model kills another.

A model with the soulless ability cannot have Souls bound to it under any circumstances.

When a model with the soulless ability is killed by an enemy hero, it does not produce a Soul. Instead, if the enemy hero is not suffering the curse condition, the enemy hero’s Effigy gains a banked Soul.

When a model with the soulless ability kills an enemy hero model it does not harvest its Soul. Instead, the nearest eligible friendly hero model, to the model with the soulless ability, gains a Soul bound to it. If a model with the soulless ability kills another soulless model, the Effigy of the model with the soulless ability gains a banked Soul.


As the game continues to grow, adding heroes, different maps, magical artefacts and monsters, creates many options for players. We continually revisit various elements to ensure they are balanced and players are faced with legitimate and interesting challenges when designing their Warbands. All changes are carefully measured and, as is always the case, we will continue to monitor things over the next three months as we march towards the next patch.


Allandir has been on the radar for several months. We feel he is perhaps a touch above the curve and after much deliberation decided to nerf his Bow basic attack.

  • Critical damage on his Bow basic attack reduced from 5 to 4.


Dor'gokaan is the first model that can play two roles on the battlefield and while our goal is to ensure the same feel across both forms, our primary responsibility is to ensure game balance.

  • Maximum health reduced from 12 to 10 for the summonable version of Dor'gokaan.


Controlling the Shrine of Eldir often meant a player would cede first turn, and the initiative, to their opponent. There were occasions where this negative would out-weigh the value of getting the shrine. This is something we wanted to fix, since securing an objective should never have a negative effect on the fortunes of a player.

  • When controlling the Shrine of Eldir, converting it to Terra is optional.



The order of timing between applying damage from an auto-attack and executing combat manoeuvres meant that damage from Fazeal's Decapitation was reduced twice by the target's RES.

  • The bonus damage from Decapitation has been changed to True Damage.


While not exactly the same as Fazeal, Gendris' Lightning Leap was another ability that could potentially have its damage reduced twice if multiple enemy models had RES. This change provides a decent buff for her level 3 ability.

  • Lightning Leap bounce damage changed to True Damage.


Isabel's release is scheduled for Adepticon in March, so we are proud to set her to version 1.0. After much deliberation, we decided to slip in a slight nerf to her level 2 Holy talent tree.

  • Divine Intervention no longer affects Isabel.


Sir Marcus is the Winter Knight after all!

  • Sir Marcus is immune to the Frost condition.


This change to Xyvera is a tweak to ensure our game rules make sense within the parameters of the Judgement universe.

  • Xyvera can no longer Unholy Harvest through a cursed model.

Hero Quality of Life Changes

The following model's cards were updated to clarify minor things like ambiguous timings and intent.



  • Bale & Sarna are now version 1.0.


  • Sustained Attack updated to specify the enemy model must be damaged by the basic attack that produced the combat manoeuvre.


  • Updated to reflect she is now optional to summon once the Shrine of Eldir is controlled.


  • Timing for Hammer Time clarified so it has to be done immediately after an enemy is damaged by Thrommel's Warhammer.


  • Card updated to reflect that Small is now a core ability.


  • Big Game Hunter updated so it specifies the target model must be damaged by his Giant Crossbow attack.
